Homeowners come from various age groups and backgrounds. Additionally, homeownership rates are a good indicator of a population’s economic well-being.

So with that thought back in my mind I lurked around a bit and got some surprising and a bit funny results.

Here's the first one

1. Females are buying more Houses than Males in America

2. Average Median Age of All buyers have increased considerably in US.

3. Midwest of US has the highest of homeownership rates.

When I compare these rates or other data to my highly dense country demographically, US is doing pretty much better than India.

If these comparisons can anyhow relate, I want to know the real current housing market situation in US.

Also, if someone can tell me why are Single Females buying more Houses than Single Males? Is there some kind of crisis running over single males? Are they not getting paid as much as their counterparts? What's happening there?😜

Here in India Males are way ahead than Females in big buys!! Don't take me wrong here, please. We are a country who are traditionally more inclined to joint families and when and who to buy houses is a family decision rather than a single man or woman.

Anecdotally: men are easier to waste their savings on useless consumer crap.

If a hobby includes buying expensive shiny stuff it's way more likely to be male dominated. Cars be it oldtimers or sports cars or tinkering: all men. Life savings into espresso machines: all men. The audiophiles subreddit: all men. Stock market options gambling: all men. Building PCs and stuff: male dominated. Scuba diving or a pilot license: mostly men. etc etc

I don't agree. Women love Gold and Diamonds and they have established their monopoly on them. But men can only boast that they have only one monopoly for buys and that is men's 'shaving brush'.

Women are like, they can wear everything that men can but men can't wear a lot of women items. Idk, but men should try to wear some of them. They may look nice.

I wear shorts and jeans, but I never encroach manity. I think when men wear one specific clothes for woman, idk why they feel embarrassed??

But you said my parents did was wrong. Yes, j bought that house with the money that my parents had deposited in my account. And they wanted that money to be spent on my marriage. But me, on my dreams. And because that money had been deposited to my account, so technically that money was mine.

I would’ve stayed in the house longer to build more equity into it. I’ve made money and got bigger houses every time I’ve bought one. I will say, you don’t NEED a huge house. There are so many rooms that don’t even get used. I wanted a big yard and got that and then my kids are too old now to actually enjoy apart from doing a little basketball and putting from the green I installed. I spend more time keeping up on it than anything.

Find a house that suites your needs in a city that you could see yourself living in for a long time with people that you can do life with. Something that won’t break the bank which is hard now with the interest rates.

I would’ve also set aside some of the equity after selling each house for my kids so that they would be prepared for this world.

Probably because single men are gambling on crypto and nfts trying to get rich to attract women, whereas single women are concerned they will not be able to afford a home if they wait too long or find a suitable mate that can provide for a family because single men are losers degen gambling on crypto.

Uh. I'm not heterosexual, and I'm a bit of an outlier due to my circumstances, but I was able to buy a condo in 2019 due to the passing of my mother. I used the money from her life insurance policy as the down payment. I was 36 at the time.

You may be right or wrong about US, I don't know too much of there. But think you're wrong about India. Isn't it true that most Indian man buy houses on the names of their women just to save stamp duty, So making women legal owners of houses. What do you say now?

They don't need to as you said WE live and prefer joint families. So much so that we can be around 20 people living in 3 or 4 BHK apartments.

Where are our living standards? Give it a thought. Say something about overcrowded houses of Indian big cities.

The comments so far show many reasons to explain why that is, except the most obvious reason : men don't want to buy a house? I don't. Opportunity cost vs bitcoin, maintenance, huge attack surface (governmental attacks, etc).
