A movie that, beyond everything else, touches on an element that defines human existence: individuality—or, more precisely, the right to it.

_One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest_ is a cinematic masterpiece. It is an unconventional drama. And it delves into the degradation, violence, and fear within psychiatric institutions, where people are turned into objects, and medication is administered indiscriminately. Where every form of physical and psychological abuse is legitimized, transforming therapeutic clinics into prisons, exile zones, and basements that conceal all the sins of the "normal" world.

In these settings, the prevailing doctrine defines the "good patient" as the docile, subdued patient. Yet, beyond all this, and through a striking symbolism, the film reflects on the mutilation of individuality, the imprisonment of the spirit, and the obliteration of each person’s unique personality.

Despite the final scream of anguish and despair being so piercing that it courses through the senses like an electric current, the stubbornness and resistance to any form of oppression leave you with the thought that—even if it seems irrational—the will can move, if not mountains, then at least a massive marble freezer...

I think trade is a subfield of economics rather than a completely separate discipline.

The elephant stole a sack of sugar, while the ant stole a single grain of sugar.

A great scandal erupted. All the media reported that a gang of sugar thieves had been dismantled. In reality, only the ant was arrested. She stood trial, accused of stealing an entire sack of sugar, because a single grain was found in her possession—and it was confiscated.

Meanwhile, the elephant still had the sack of sugar, even carrying it openly on his back. Yet, no one dared to accuse him.

The ant was tried and sentenced to establish justice and cleanse society of corruption.

Afterward, the elephant—generous and kind-hearted as he was—distributed grains of sugar to the poor during various celebrations. Yes, from the stolen sack. The forest’s inhabitants praised and blessed him, wishing him a long life for his rare humanitarian act.

Whenever an animal tried to enlighten the others and reveal the truth—that the elephant was the source of their misery—the other animals labeled them traitors and tortured them. To them, the elephant was their great benefactor.

This fable reflects the tragedy of all humanity.

Reflections on life

In the country I come from, my grandparents’ generation had never heard of long-term planning, externalities, continental drift, or the expansion of the universe.

Yet, even in their old age, they kept planting olive trees and cypresses without worrying about costs and returns. They knew they would die, but they still tilled the earth—for those who would come after them, and perhaps for the earth itself.

They understood that no matter what 'power' they had, it would bear no beneficial results if they didn’t obey the seasons, if they didn’t pay attention to the winds, if they didn’t respect the unpredictable Mediterranean, if they didn’t cut the trees at the right time, and if they didn’t allow the must the time it needed to ferment.

They didn’t think in terms of infinity—perhaps they didn’t even understand the concept—but they acted, lived, and died in a time that was truly endless.

This year hit like a storm I didn’t see coming. It was raw and sharp—the sting of broken ties, the ache of friendships gone cold, the weight of disappointments I thought I was too strong to bear.

Nights were long and restless. Thoughts circled like vultures, regrets and wrong turns playing out again and again in my mind. I carried burdens I wasn’t ready for. Made mistakes that left a bitter taste. I’m no hero. Just a man trying to make sense of the road, stumbling here and there, but never lying down for good.

Even so, I held on. There’s a light out there somewhere, even if it’s far off, even if it’s just a flicker. Healing takes time—longer than you think. Success doesn’t come with a trumpet call. You wait. You endure. You keep walking. There’s still so much ahead, so much left to become.

I’ve started to forgive myself, step by step. I’ve learned to look my flaws in the eye and keep moving. If you’re here too, on this hard stretch of road, know this: it’s fine to be a mess. We’re all unfinished, all trying. And every little step forward, no matter how small, deserves a quiet nod, a moment to say, I’m still here.

I wish light to anyone experiencing their dark dimension, peace to anyone struggling with themselves, strength to anyone feeling weak, and above all, patience and love!

It’s impossible not to feel the spirit of Christmas in the air, and it’s almost impossible, at one moment or another, not to be captivated by the art of twinkling lights, the Wham refrain heard everywhere, or the ribbons and red dominating everything around.

An entire commercial and media industry traditionally brainwashes us, proclaiming that for Christmas, we must be “cheerful” and in good company.

But “All I want for Christmas is me!” It may sound cynical, but in fact, my Christmas is entirely Jungian. It’s the symbolic moment where I reflect on the rebirth of myself.

It is the symbol of bringing to life a new dimension, which I see as an opportunity for the maturation of my SOUL.

Jung baptized the archetypes “anima” and “animus” to validate his theory that an individual must embrace all the contradictions coexisting within themselves to live in a healthy balance.

Thus, for this Christmas Eve, I wish light to anyone experiencing their dark dimension, peace to anyone struggling with themselves, strength to anyone feeling weak, and above all, patience and love.

All I want for Christmas is me

This is a typical trait of insincere people, which says a lot about them. You can identify them by noticing what they lack but never admit:

If they lack responsibility, they will blame others.
If they lack communication skills, they will claim you're creating an debate. 
If they lack emotional intelligence, they will say you're too sensitive.
If they lack a work ethic, they will criticize everyone's work around them.
If they lack honesty, they will twist the truth to fit their version.
If they lack boundaries, they will violate yours and act like they don't exist.
If they lack integrity, they will justify everything wrong they do.
Finally, if they lack self-confidence, they will mock others to make themselves feel superior.

This insight isn’t just for understanding others. If you notice any of these deficiencies in yourself, it simply means it’s time to grow and heal.

Don’t expect this moment of inner growth to be applauded by the world. There’s a quiet hope within you that whispers these moments of inner growth will one day be properly appreciated.

That’s the voice you should listen to!
