Plus they did "What It Takes" as well on the same album, these are two of my all time favourite tracks.
Great subject choice for MMM, there's so much out there. I'll get my thinking cap on for next week. Already got a cracking country track lined up. Can't use them all in one day.
I'll dig deep in to the Thunder catalogue and see what else fits the bill. Luke isn't shy of heavy weight subjects like this and Danny's voice is superb to convey the message.
Thanks
The US had 3 versions of the video (different kids in them). The UK and Aus had their own versions with kids from their country.
Such an epic song of the time and still is.
Thunder β This Forgotten Town
Luke Morley knows how to dig deep in to his emotions with this song about loneliness and time passing
Father's gone crazy he stares out the window all day
Watching the same streets where once as a kid he would play
There's no hope in his eyes anymore
He's forgotten what he was hoping for
And the postman walks straight past the door
There's no news today
Aerosmith - Janie's Got A Gun
The Pump album is just loaded with classic tracks, writing and music at it's best.
Steven Tyler In the 1980s was in a recovery program where he met so many women who had experienced incredibly painful and debilitating sexual, mental and physical abuse. Those events put them on a path of suffering that led to anything from abusing drugs to self-harm to many other self-destructive behaviors to mask the pain. It was also around that time that he wrote the song "Janie's Got a Gun," which tells the story of a young girl who is abused by her father." The singer declared, "I got really angry that nobody was paying homage to those who were abused by mom and dad."
Soul Asylum - Runaway Train
Lead singer Dave Pirner has stated that the lyrics originally described his experience of depression.
The video shows actual children who have run away from home for various reasons and gone missing. Some were found others weren't.
All the zombies (extras) outside the Winchester pub are from the fan club of the comedy "Spaced", which stars Nick Frost & Simon Pegg
It was superb, very funny. A pantomime as it were, just crazy funny. A comedy for kids that didn't speak down to them but spoke to them. I suppose the closest thing I can think of now is Horrible Histories.

Shaun of the Dead: Queen - Don't Stop Me Now
Not a spooky song, but a good track to bash zombies to.
Note, they beat the zombie to the rhythmn of the tune (tempo matched), a feature that director Edgar Wright loves to use in his films, such as Baby Driver
Rentaghost TV Theme Song (with Lyrics)
For UK kids of the 70's and early 80's this show was unmissable, not only was it funny but we didn't have video recorders. So if you missed it, you'd really missed it.
Great lyrics, I still know them word for word
Metallica - Enter Sandman
The sandman is normally one who brings good dreams to children but Metallica flip that around and turn it in to a nightmare
Creedence Clearwater Revival - Bad Moon Rising (At The Royal Albert Hall / 1970)
How well do you know your '80's horror movies. This is the first time I fully remember hearing a CCR track and it was from this movie.

Tom Petty - Zombie Zoo
Thanks to a reply from a post I did the other day likening my post to a Tom Petty track from full moon fever. I went on full moon fever trip and there at the end of the album is this fantastic track.
Good call. I can hear it, there's quite a similarity in the styles.
Full moon fever is such a classic album. I remember buying it as soon as it came out.
Whitesnake - Slide It In
One of the best tracks off the album before 1987
Dave here not leaving much to the imagination
Only The Strong Survive (Live At The Marquee Club, London, 1987)
For me this the best track of the "In to the fire" album, an absolute barnstormer.
I had the luck to see him on this tour and he opened the night with this track. Bloody brilliant
