EPUB files have gained popularity in the modern digital age, and I would say, deservedly so. First, because EPUB is a much lighter and more convenient format to edit compared to others widely known, such as PDF. This means not only can you store more in less space, but you can also edit them easily whenever you want. And second, you can do that without paying a dime to those evil billionaire companies (cough, cough, Adobe...). 
Additionally, if you've ever wanted to feel like a programmer straight out of a movie —that is, without the headaches— my simple guide might be just the perfect fit for you. But we need to go slow, there's a lot to cover on this topic.

Down to business. All you need to start (yes, you, because I already have it) is a free editor, any computer, even an old one, and some ebooks. And I mean FREE EPUBs, of course: don't pay for that just yet!

Calibre comes with a book reader, the editor itself, and a sort of library to organize all your titles, rate them, convert them to other formats, and few more things. If you've already opened it, you'll see the window is divided into three main areas. The File Explorer appears on the left, where you can quickly see all the elements that integrate the book (HTML files, style sheets, pictures, fonts...). On the far right, there's a preview of the selected element that updates almost in real-time, and in the center is, of course, the area where you directly edit the file you've opened.

You'll also encounter quite some buttons and menus, which can be discouraging in the beginning, but fear not, we'll get through all this in time. Later you'll learn how to style the book, compress the pictures to make a lighter file, work with downloaded font files, check and correct any errors and more. But before you jump into all these technical stuff, you should enjoy some reading. I know is way more comfortable to do read in your smartphone or tablet than on PC, so install "ReadEra" or similar book reader in your device
