There is also a documentary about Pegasus. My paranoid head thinks, that if this is being so prominently talked about in the mainstream, that means it is already obsolete. They are probably using something else at this point.
Yup, that's the beauty and point of Bitcoin. Gives every person their freedom back, and takes from everyone the most powerful tool they could use to control others. A religion, gender, politics, etc etc agnostic freedom tech.
Quoting from the article: "Either way, the honeybadger doesn’t care." Indeed, indeed.
I am one such leftist individual. And let me tell you, not even I can get any of my friends or colleagues to listen. It's really impossible. They just won't think outside their box.
And since they are so confined within those boxes (a.k.a. dogmas), the can't even begin to conceptualize the problem that Bitcoin solves. In other words, they don't have the slightest clue how the game is being played today (i.e. Cantillon effect), why unions and "movements" have been having their asses handed to them since 1971, and why without Bitcoin, the little people will never win.
A few examples of boxes:
- Marx et.al.:
--- What they think: Based on this box, Capitalism exploits people by paying workers less than what they produce. So historically, workers banded together into labor unions and syndicates to strike and fight for higher wages.
-- Why this is outdated and ineffective today: Those with access to the money printer can simply print money, and make workers lose income through inflation faster than workers can bargain for wage increases. Organizing millions of people takes time, energy, while all the other side needs to do is... press keys on a computer. In short, this would be like fighting a modern war with muskets and bayonets, while the enemy is using...tactical nukes, AI and swarm drones.
- Anarcho-primitivism: This is hilarious. I actually had someone argue this.
-- He, a self avowed anarchist who is doing a PhD at a prestigious leftist academic institution, said that the solution to the dollar system and money printing, is to revert to societies without money. LOL. Might as well get rid of the wheel, gunpowder, and fire too since we are at it.
There are many more such boxes. It's almost infinite.
And it's all so moronic; the degree to which they have their heads in the sand. As a leftist, I feel like the fellows of my ilk in the US are hopeless. Maybe 70 years of having their heads bashed in by the FED and their merry band of bankers, has left the left in a state of catatonic, reflexive stupidity. Incapable of engaging, much less absorbing any new ideas at all. A kind of weird learned helplessness that makes them feel all cozy and comfortable in their little boxes of utopian fantasies or callous denial.
It's sad. I am sad about it.
It seems like you can ask Mechanic for it and he will send it to you, not publicly available yet, it's an ongoing study.
Bolt 12 or bust.
I have been using alby, WOS, etc, but the entire Lnurl stack stinks as much as the domain name system for websites, another centralizing force that will be used by fincen and governments to fence us in, track us and freeze us out of our payment rails at their whim.
Great explanation. I just find it fascinating. Back when I was first learning about Bitcoin, this was one of those things that really got my brain into a knot.
This is a great post. The writing is on the wall. Plebs need to be saving a small war chest in cash to defend our stacks if prices crater. Withdrawing from exchanges is also a must. It will be an epic storm that dwarves the 08 crash.
Be solvent, be liquid and be sovereign. Bitcoin is our life boat.
You were right! #271074
Whelp, merchant never replied to me. Returned the sats from this post to the rewards pool.
Sadness. Hopefully this planted a seed in the vendor's minds at least. Will definitely be more mindful next time.
Merchant has not replied yet :'(
If I do not hear back by tomorrow, I'll be sending the sats from this post back to the rewards pile.
Might visit the festival tomorrow again, will keep y'all posted!
Y'all ROCK!!!!! The Stacker News Community is the best Bitcoin Community!
Sent the vendor a message on Facebook, waiting for reply now!
Pure fire!! Will def. drop them a note on facebook tomorrow!
Forgot Breez also has a POS system! Honestly would have preferred to recommend something non-custodial like Phoenix or Breez, but having a lightning address is just such an advantage. Hoping all wallets get that added soon.
Awesome! My hope is that this vendor gets blown away enough that she pushes all her fellow vendors to adopt Bitcoin as a payment option!
I'll also make sure whatever sats this post stacks, will be routed over to them.
