44 sats \ 1 reply \ @BountifulB 11 Mar \ on: Considering Becoming a Freelance Bitcoin Consultant bitcoin
I was a freelance consultant for several years and found it to be stressful and sometimes unstable (clients would cancel or abandon contracts). People sought me out but you generally have to self-promote, publish, be active on social media, or have a relationship that will funnel you leads.
One thing to consider is that you may know Bitcoin inside and out NOW, but a lot will change over the next 5 to 10 years. Will you want to stay "guru level" on every new development, every kind of wallet, etc? People will want to "pick your brain" and if you are good enough to charge a high fee they expect you to be an encyclopedic guru of everything.
Technology changes very fast and I found it exausting to stay "guru level," consistently, year and after year.
When making friends with other people and trying to build community, I have noticed a large number of people that have outwardly act as if they have little to no empathy whatsoever. They are lonely and want friends but they act 'high time preference' and only want to do whatever suits themselves at the moment.
Me: I just got back from the clinic and the doctor said I have a liver problem and have to be really careful to avoid all medications and toxins for 3 months.
Them: That sucks. Hey, wanna join me at happy hour at 6pm?
Me: The doctor said I can't drink AT ALL. Not sure if a bar is the the best place for me to hang out, there's too much temptation.
Them: Aw c'mon, live a little, you can have just one beer! It's not going to hurt anything.
I would like to say that it was just an isolated thing or skewed sample but I have encountered this type of behavior REPEATEDLY and I don't remember it being like this a couple decades ago.
Something has changed us!
Some people feel that cypherpunks who code and use privacy tools are being 'uncompliant' and creating undue hostility towards towards Bitcoin from the authorities. They think privacy is only for criminals, not necessary for normal people, and it stigmatized bitcoin. ex., Fred Krueger (ETF advocate on Twitter).
I am always a little suspicious of the most brash, swaggering, "famous" Mega Maxis. They seem fueled by unbridled greed and self-interest.. which all Bitcoin stackers have, including myself... but they seem to embrace it like mad men.
I like this idea.... I think "sats" are a silly and confusing name.
If I could rename it myself I'd call factions of bitcoin "bits."
1.00000000 = 1 Bitcoin
0.01000000 = 1 million bits
Ecuador is currently being overrun by international narco-traffickers. It is said to be the most dangerous place in South America right now.
If you can do a set of 10 pullups with clean, good form you are doing great!!! That will make you about as strong as your body can "naturally" get.. without lifting heavy iron.
I was once in an actual (non-metaphorical) "boating accident" at sunset. The boat flooded but we managed to steer it towards an unclimbable seawall with a ladder where the lowest rung was 0.5m over my head.
The only way out of the boat and to summon rescue for the other passengers was to pull-up and/or 'muscle up' the ladder. It was either that or spend a cold night, waves sloshing us constantly, in a flooded boat and waiting for someone to (hopefully) see and rescue us at dawn.
I was able to 'pull up' my body and climb the ladder with relative ease and confidence and go into town to get help. At that moment, all my training paid off. It wasn't about looks or enjoyment - my strength was an invaluable survival asset.
Another thing i learned from that incident was to carry a knife. We had tied up the boat with a rope and there was current that put enough pressure on the rope that there was no possible way to loosen the knot and let us be towed away. Thankfully, the rescuer had a knife and cut us free.
Qi Gong! I have just started getting into it and it is way chiller than yoga or other expercise, yet very effectively at calming the nervous system.
Doesn't Cashu solve this 'bearer asset' issue? Although it is non-physical and certainly more experimental at this point.

What if it was prudent to call for help in a middle-of-the-night emergency in your home?
Nah bro, I have been cancelled by a number of people... even childhood friends... for political wrongthink. There was no argument or conflict - I posted a photo of me at an event for a political candidate they disagreed with and they unfollowed, etc.
I know someone who lost a friend of 40+ years for being unvaccinated: the woke friend was so terrified of COVID she refused to meet in person for over 2 years unless the other friend wore a mask in her presence. The unvaccinated friend politely refused to mask up. Their friendship deteriorated rapidly and is basically non-existent today.
Doing an intensive workout while horizontal can cause acid reflux for some people.
Working out with no food in your reduces the risk of this.
A-men!
I tried to make friends with some Blue Pilled artists and musicians who seemed intelligent, fun and had a sense of humor. Things didn't work out because they cancelled me for having different political views. Then I realized that these people were the total opposite of stackers: they were slackers. Not planners, savers or survivors.
If there was a crisis or confrontation of any sort, they would be either be ground beef or sheeple zombies.
For anyone who needs protection from the effects of chronic stress, I highly recommend Phosphatidyl Serine. Taking this stuff is really good for the brain and calms you down, help with sleep, lowers cortisol, makes your thinking more sharp, etc. I recommend NOW soy-free Phosphatidyl Serine containing Sharp-PS.
