They have elections coming up next year. Wouldn’t be too wise to go too crazy in regulations. Even though wise is not how I’d define the lot.
Not everyone will care about it but those who do will initiate people’s mindsets simply by their peers seeing an improvement in quality of life. Like the drunkard who becomes sober and people in their life seeing the improvements, rather than simply talking about being sober with no change in lifestyle.
Understanding doesn’t really matter so much. How many people use email without understanding its protocol, the vast majority.
Most people not having a savings is precisely why I think bitcoin won’t fail. Network effects will ultimately determine its success and by today’s standard it’s already successful.
“We have to educate the people to get the truth out…”
Almost every problem we face today moves forward unhindered from people’s ignorance of simple truths. Even though people know better it’s only when catastrophe strikes when they realize they need to implement said protocols to prevent repeated downfalls. Whether financial, health related or just many small mistakes or bad decisions that snowball into very large problems. Like the repeated DUI offender, generally speaking they won’t wake up to their bad decisions until they kill someone. But then it’s too late. These gaps of common sense only grow smaller, like the middle class in our current economic climate. Further separating rich from poor.
People have to educate themselves. Until they get the ambition to gain general knowledge I don’t think there’s much we can do. People learn the hard way.
Bro, what are you talking about? Who cares about political narratives evil or not. A large majority of bitcoiners? Says who? The beautiful thing about bitcoin is anyone can opt in, worst enemy or best friend alike either one only strengthens the network. Not everyone who holds bitcoin will ever have the same view points and ideologies. The core ethos of bitcoin may vary from person to person. A millionaire sitting comfortably will certainly view bitcoin differently than someone stuck in a 3rd world country. Holding bitcoin will benefit them both yet they are worlds apart as far as where they fit into their own economies and how they benefit from holding bitcoin.
Like the others said, 1 bitcoin will always equal 1 bitcoin. Unlike the dollar, where 1 dollar will be worth less than 1 dollar next year.
Hearing Tim Draper talk about buying bitcoin from the gov by auction. I vaguely knew about mt gox and Silk Road but I realized btc was worth learning about at that point. Antonopoulos and a few others helped seal the deal.
In 2016 I was kind of on the fence about btc. Hearing how Draper bought btc at auction from the gov was one of the catalyst that sent me down the rabbit hole.
Senator Pocahontas is a political hack and nothing more. She sure didn’t mind the 39 million her party received from SBF. And calling them progressives is a joke.
Weddings, funerals, Xmas parties etc…
Maybe a drink with dinner every once in a while. It’s certainly a rare occasion since I had kids. If there was a column for quarterly I’d probably check that since it’s not every month alcohol is consumed.
Not that Elon will have the same fate as Snowden or Assange. Similarly it’s just proving what we already knew to be happening with actual evidence. Harder to sweep this under the rug even though it took long enough for it to surface.
Just like the Roman Empire, aside from going fiat by way of diluting the denarius of its silver content. People became more degenerate whether by social engineering or just declining societal morals and ethics. People in occupations that were deemed beneath them also became celebrities in a way. Gladiators, actors, entertainers, chefs and so on went from being looked down on to becoming celebrities. Much like today. Who knows what will be the catalyst that propels us into a drastic downturn that is impossible to print our way out of. Time will tell, stack those sats in the meantime.
Most people refuse to believe this possibility. Especially the older generations that have heard these warnings time and time again over many decades or the better part of a century. We all have different levels of understanding and viewpoints from which we see things from.
