That is a fantastic way to put it.
Forced conversion therapy is a problem. But it should be an option that people are free to choose.
I enjoy the people I work with. Plus it is great to have the flexibility to work from home when needed.
In the last 5 years I’ve been to the theater once and that was to see Top Gun Maverick. There’s nothing compelling for me anymore and it makes me sad. I really enjoy going to watch a movie in the theater. At home it is just too easy to be distracted by everything around me. Going to the theater was a way to carve out time and shutout the world around me.
We’re doing this exact thing at work. We have to take everything from system A and map it to system B. We are writing stored procs to select everything from a table in the old system and insert the data into a temp table with the same schema as the new system. Once the data checks out we migrate it into our live database tables. Can confirm that doing this as bulk operations is much faster than looping through the rows.
