ESP-Now on the SatsLink enables p2p comms. Is that what you mean?
fedipool is what drew me to fedimint in the first place. Don't understand Ark in the slightest so no opinion there but needing a soft fork makes me hesitant that we'll see anything come of it soon.
Do you have mining experience? I only just starting digging into mining and learning a bit on Stratum v2, but my focus has been primarily fedimint stuffs.

Yea, there has been some pain, but I want to get something into the plebs hands on StartOS. Will be happy to pivot to v0.4 StartOS but with no ETA, I did not want to wait.
This and other key management solutions like FROST and MuSig have me extremely bullish for bitcoin tech.
I do think family fedimints make great sense! Any community based with compute and bitcoin needs fits with Fedimint well.
Fedimint is very modular so will enable a lot of fun way to interact with bitcoin at multiple layers.
v0.2.0 is here now. That is what prompted me to package this for StartOS. I would still proceed with caution but I'm hoping to run a fedimint in production in the near future. specifically using StartOS.

if you're a Stacker, you're deviant from the majority, so yes. :)
That's the point of this territory. :)
To start, https://hamstudy.org is a great starting point, even if you're not getting licensed.

repeaters would be distinctly easier to geolocate due to increased power and static location. If you have a mobile setup and use radio discipline for brevity, it's harder to direction find you. That being said, if you're broadcasting a whole lot of power, spy satellites will easily geolocate you. low powered localized mesh networks might be optimal if you're trying to do a pirate radio of sorts. But you don't need to be under the radar to practice! Practice in the open with the normies. :)
No idea! My license doesn't expire until 2024. Look forward to learning from you. 😅
it's a govt site soooo.... basically a shitcoin.
None that I'm aware of, but since the network of ARES repeaters and such exist already, it may be trivial to get bitcoiners involved and then have redundant comms in case of disaster/emergency. just can't spook all the HAM people. lots of boomers (no offense, just an age description) that would likely spook at the mention of bitcoin. but who knows where it would go!

I personally am interested in exploring what https://reticulum.network/ might be able to accomplish. it says it's usable over packet radio (which is a subset of HAM radio stuffs).
There's a whole heap of frequencies out there to be utilized!
