When you look at credit card fees for a $10 transaction at Steak ‘n Shake, you’re typically hit with 3% ($0.30). Switch to Bitcoin’s Lightning Network, and you can cut that in half—easily! Raw LND fees are tiny (~0.01%–0.08%, or $0.001–$0.008 for $10 @ $107k/BTC), and even with a processor like Strike, you’re looking at ~1.5% ($0.15). It’s no exaggeration to say that’s a 50% cost reduction, making Lightning a game-changer for merchants and Bitcoiners alike!
Thanks. I asked ChatGPT how I could make some extra Sats, and it suggested some places. This was one of them. I'm still trying to figure it out. There were other places that I still don't understand. The wallet link was tricky, but I have done that. I'm just trying to stack as many Sats as I can for my son. I think it will be worth it to him in 20 years.
I have read that a 2TB drive will future proof your node. I am going to go for a Umbrel node and try and run the lightning network on it.
