I suspect this works out pretty well for pegging in kyc and pegging out to a fresh address unknowingly right? I need to look more into this, but if I'm understanding liquid correctly, it's impossible to trace and seems like a more viable option than coinjoin to lose track of kyc coins
I've taken this approach as well recently. You have to consider several things.
Primary goal is to buy and store securely. Nobody disagrees on this. Its just how you go about this. Depending on how much you save and put aside each month towards your stack, this will determine how hard you get "pegged" (haa see what i did there?) by on chain fees if you avoid layer 2 entirely. For example, if I buy $50 this week, I definitely don't want to leave it on an exchange (thats rule #1). It would be best to store it on chain BUT my $50 with current on chain fees would easily turn into $20 worth of bitcoin. Lightning requires you have enough liquidity if youre self hosting, and many people who cant afford more than a bit per month, and dont have preexisting mounds, or have simply grown to realize that lightning is still experimental and youre much more likely to lose your funds will trying to figure it out...what are those guys supposed to do? What does onboarding look like with high transaction fees and less access to custodial lightning like alby and WoS?
I've begun using liquid as a means of stacking, with the intention of moving it to cold storage once it hits a particular amount where the on chain fee is manageable. Everyone keeps screaming "dont trust, be self sovereign" when theyve never looked at the code themselves for their wallets or hardware signers to verify there isnt backdoor access, and while i appreciate the constant reminder to be wary of thieves, you have to give people reasonable resources so they can build themselves a roadmap considering their situation. The alternative is not buying bitcoin and holding fiat in a bank lol. Remember where we came from.
I consider liquid more secure than experimental lightning, having run multiple different recommended ln nodes and wallets only to have experienced bugs that cause me to lose millions of sats, on multiple different ocassions. but THANK THE LORD i wasnt rugged by a custodial, am i right?
Liquid has been good to us (so far), i recognize the possibility, though small, of federated rugging, however, i cant imagine holding as much in liquid at one time as ive lost using 'unruggable' lightning options.

My current church I started attending and serving at about 12 years ago. I was freshly baptized and excited about Jesus, moved to Orlando to attend college and mingled with all the Christian groups I could find. I attended a Wesleyan missions group on Tuesdays, CRU on Thursdays, went door to door witnessing with a reformed baptist church on Saturdays, and found a Church of Christ locally to attend on Sundays (as my spiritual father was CoC and they were the ones who poured into me for months). Eventually, someone invited me to attend a wednesday service at a nondenom charismatic church, where I met my wife, and eventually made that my exclusive church. These days, ive also been enthrawled with Orthodoxy, and thus I am going through inquirer class and vespers on saturdays.

I'm less inclined to assume my values are automatically correct before I understand the opposite poition first. For example, during covid, my church closed down for a couple weeks, which i found appauling, however, i appreciated my pastors heart to do everything to make the flock feel safe. We spent a lot of time developing and producing online content for the congregation so they could participate from home. My wife and I are childrens ministers so we prerecorded everything ahead of time.

Coming from protestant tradition, the church seems to be secondary to a personal relationship in my own devotions, family pastoring, etc.
I think your opinion is a subjective preference and not a universal resentment. Most people can see value just as well in temporary comments. You've simply chosen not to.
Yes
- Memes on fiatbook that point to just how ridiculous and morally corrupt our government and financial institutions are, all while posing bitcoin as a solution
- I have a youtube playlist I share for those who are curious about how to buy for non-techy folk
- Be a normal human being in real life so they don't think you're just flaunting the "new thing"
- If they ask you in person, make sure you have an emotionally reserved and patient elevator pitch to explain why bitcoin and be ready to set them up with their own wallet and send them sats. High fees right now are going to force lightning or liquid adoption. Find a custodial lightning wallet for them to download and send them 1000 sats.
- Then leave them alone. If they have questions, they know who to go to.
No judgement from me. It seems you feel guilty for "seeking pleasure and comfort", and I specifically want to speak to that as an encouragement.
10 years from now, you'll look back at your life and either be disgusted at all the failed opportunities or proud of the strides you made. I'm not talking about material gains, but in character development. You have a choice, every moment of every day, to do things that will tip the scale one way or the other. Ive found that current guilt due to conscience pricks unrepented of almost always leads to self hatred in myself later. The answer is always doing the hard things now that you'll be proud of tomorrow. You have nobody to impress on here or in real life, you simply need to be able to live with yourself, which can be THE most difficult thing. Follow your conscience, discern whether your thoughts are because of unrestrained impulses crying out to be satisfied or if they are genuine needs. Telling yourself no in the small things (like eating one more piece of cake or sleeping in unnecessarily) helps you say no to bigger problems.
Bless you brother.
Dear symp,
We are contacting you about your funds we somehow have accurate knowledge about, via your address we promised we wouldn't save in our database. We apologize for your loss and hope you'll accept this worthless token that you can redeem for our worthless hard wallet in our store.

This is like asking "Where can I find Satoshi Nakamoto in the blockchain?" Is the creator of bitcoin subject to the laws governing the blockchain? Of course not. In the same way, God by necessity must be outside of and not governed/restricted by time, space, and matter, being the creator of all created things visible and invisible.
The scripture tells us a few things however:
"The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth." -Psalm 145:18
"Where shall I go from your Spirit? Or where shall I flee from your presence? If I ascend to heaven, you are there! If I make my bed in Sheol, you are there! If I take the wings of the morning and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, even there your hand shall lead me, and your right hand shall hold me." -Psalm 139:7-10
"Can a man hide himself in secret places so that I cannot see him? declares the Lord. Do I not fill heaven and earth? declares the Lord." -Jeremiah 23:24
It seems as though He isn't difficult to find if you are genuinely looking. I assume the problem is that most people can't find God the same way a bank robber can't find a police officer. The same reason Adam and Eve hid from God because they were embarrassed over their sins. The initial step in repentance and calling on God and asking Him to forgive you is a massive hurdle most people aren't willing to make, however that is the point I found God draws near.
Bless you brother
The hype is mind boggling to me. It proves that what we learn from history is that we dont learn from history.
The banks want to convince you that you can hold you digital gold safe with them, and will give you an IOU instead so you can "safely own and redeem" your gold when you need it. Flash forward, you can't get your gold back.
Giving any bank or gov permission to interviene in your store of value is like being willingly and happily invested in an abusive relationship.
We have a secret santa tradition where we come up with a short list of things that we want under a certain dollar amount. My list consisted of on thing, bitcoin, knowing full well that they would have to figure out how to buy, and send me some. The rest of them get lightsats giftcards where they get to be onboarded an learn about basic bitcoin storage and functionality before they can redeem their gift. ⚡️🔫🎅
