How much time do you do on active language study these days Joe and are you working on multiple langs at once or focusing on, say, Spanish at the mo?
I am trying to improve my Portuguese which sucks. My spanish is stagnating. My French is always best. Then i try random new languages coz i get a kick out of it!

Yep, a lot. Some people have called me out for the 'white saviour' bs. It's like, dude i'm a journalist—i like doing this all over the world and i'm not doing it for internet points or likes on fb lol.
I've lived in the ivory coast, trinidad and tobago, serbia, france, spain, mexico, south africa... i've lived in a lot of random countries and people will stil be like "how dare you make content with locals." I don't understand it but after a while you have to learn to ignore it.
I always try to speak local languages, be as respectful as possible, and try to walk in other people's shoes— and i try to avoid the stupid "white person saviour " trope but people will also be butthurt coz idk, i guess it's the internet.
I think about it a lot and sometimes worry about it but ultimately it comes down to: challenge my work, not my skin colour or where i come from. i literally can't help it or change it.
That's very kind! But for every cool shirt i wear there are 3 outfits that make me look very silly.
Also i just like colourful, loud clothing. In a space where it's mostly black and codey-chic, it probably sticks out!
I enjoy seeing how folks are using bitcoin around the world. I feel you are hastening adoption by documenting this.

It's like surfing — the worst part about surfing is other surfers.
Some bitcoiners have huge egos and are clearly not on the "mission" the way that others are.
Some AMAZING people in bitcoin and i've made life long friendships i'm sure. Equally, there are some narcissistic bellends who think they're God's Gift because they made some money betting on bitcoin a decade ago.
That, and monetisation. Monetising is very hard. I've done just enough this year but i've already got a bit of panic about next year.
