There is no second best..!
(including fiat and gold)
Absolutely! His talk in Prague last year about proof-of-work was one of my favourite presentations he has done π―
I apologise, maybe I didn't phrase it properly. I am not suggesting there is a second best or anything else for people to use instead of bitcoin.
The fact is that there are plenty of new users coming into Bitcoin every single day and they need to understand why it is Bitcoin or nothing. I am just collecting the arguments for that. I myself have on boarded family and friends to Bitcoin and questions come up about other crypto, or in many cases I give information to prevent them from exploring other crypto. Everyone is on their own journey and they need some help to jump in the rabbit hole and keep focus on Bitcoin only.
You have a great point there. It is hard to find a topic when talking every week about bitcoin so we end up talking about those tired topics as you say.
Personally we are doing this podcast without any ads and without making any profit... Just for the love of talking about Bitcoin.
Those practical subjects are something we want to do more, in order as you say to help with real adoption. Your feedback is a great push to focus on that area more from now on...
I also find it from my side, as a European citizen, that I need to keep track and help people to navigate so the roadblocks that are constantly popping up in Europe and how to use Bitcoin without fear...
I really appreciate your feedback, we will try to do better! π§‘
Thanks Darthcoin! I really appreciate your guides! βΊοΈ
This is not to argue for shitcoins. It's going to be an educational episode so beginners will understand the distinction between Bitcoin and crypto. I personally still get questions "what about other projects?"... I always say "Bitcoin ONLY and here are the reasons..."
Just curious what people use as arguments that's all. From your guide you focus on lightning which is a great example of how Bitcoin is used in the real world. I didn't think of it as part of this discussion, so thank you! π§‘
They go through these points (generated with AI):
- Controlled Demolition Theory: The film suggests that the collapse of the World Trade Center buildings resembled a controlled demolition rather than a result of the plane impacts and subsequent fires.
- Building 7 Collapse: It highlights the collapse of World Trade Center Building 7, which was not hit by a plane, as suspicious and indicative of a controlled demolition.
- NORAD Stand-down: The documentary questions the failure of the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) to intercept the hijacked planes, suggesting that standard operating procedures were deliberately ignored or altered.
- Financial Motives: It proposes that the attacks were orchestrated or allowed to happen to justify military actions in the Middle East, benefiting defense contractors and oil companies.
- Pentagon Attack: The film raises doubts about the official account of the Pentagon attack, questioning the lack of extensive debris from Flight 77 and the damage pattern on the building.
- Flight 93: The documentary casts doubt on the official narrative of United Airlines Flight 93, suggesting that it may have been shot down by the military rather than crashed due to passenger intervention.
- Pre-knowledge and Insider Trading: It claims there was foreknowledge of the attacks, citing unusual stock market activity, such as put options on airlines, in the days leading up to September 11.
- Media Manipulation: The film argues that mainstream media played a role in perpetuating the official narrative and suppressing alternative theories and evidence.
Also from watching it now, they also discuss about the "terrorists" that were on board of the planes, some of them were alive days later...
And they also discuss about having simulated scenarios were this exact attack was researched, even though they denied afterwards ever having prepared for something like this.
Watch the Zeitgeist movie...
From 35:50 they get into 9/11
https://youtu.be/XpB-mM8EvBE
There was a short clip, that of course doesn't exist any more, by a channel talking to some policemen in front of the third building. They were restricting access to it before it collapsed and they said that it was planned to control demolish it soon. Something like that. I think it was Alex Jones talking about it?
Also that day the air force was doing a military exercise and all the aerial defense on the east coast was down because of that. Coincidence...
And what about the pentagon? Wasn't it hit on the same day? A third "plane" crashed on the pentagon creating a huge hole on one side but there were 0 airplane parts on site... And everybody stopped talking about it because it was so badly orchestrated...
Googling about 9/11 conspiracy theories nowadays only shows mainstream articles debunking conspiracy theories. Why so many articles and effort to do that..?
I had that moment too sometime last year when I was reading the Bitcoin Standard..! Such a powerful realisation, sometimes I feel that bitcoin actually taught me more about how the fiat system works than anything else...
I have a few books on Austrian economics, I need to finally read them!
I also find it amazing that the decentralisation has proven to be such a strong aspect that now countries stop fighting bitcoin and instead are ready to join it...
Wow what an article, amazing job!
And the article about the financial bubbles, what a great resource, I need to sit down and read them carefully π
We need to learn from the past, not just memorize some random dates. Thanks for that! π―
That's interesting, was it also because you realised that no matter how few or many miners exist then the network will keep running in the same way?
