Social media has made "keeping up with the Jones" international and not just local (neighborhood based). While I agree that having a lot of money and having lots of things are not exactly the same, it's closely linked, and most want lots of money so they can get lots of things. Minding your own business pays you.

Used to do it when I was much younger. Not as much now. It's definitely a fun activity that helps with on the spot thinking. Keep practicing!
I like the idea of lightning and have two wallets. It's a no brainer for spending btc but you have to be in an area with high btc adoption to really benefit from it practically.
Sam gives me the creeps. Can't trust him (I don't think many do).
Ai is definitely revolutionary and I'm happy to be in this age at this very time because it makes the future a tad bit more exciting. However, having people like Sam and Dario (of Antrophic) being influential in the shaping of this industry is concerning.
I will look into this some more. I think this used was as a great resource to help when hurricane Melissa hit Jamaica- that was the first time I heard about Flash. I myself wasn't even into btc yet at that point. I'll give it a try. Do you use it? Thanks for your response.
As you and others have noted, grassroots/informal economy would gain more traction. I agree with that. Thank you for your response.
How is it now? I recently started using it (BitKit), my introduction to lightning wallets. Haven't used it in the real world yet but I was able to fund it just fine and the navigation has been ok so far. Profile and contacts are listed as coming soon tho - which is a bit puzzling for me. I found Stacker News through BitKit!

More btc adoption is of great benefit in places where banks and other 3rd parties make it extremely expensive to move money. We'll see what happens in a few years. Cheers.
Thanks for your welcome and response. This is a very insightful post/response. I agree that the best bet would be to take a more grassroots approach. As you stated, there are still a lot of underbanked and unbanked folks. Once they get over the learning curve, they would see the benefit of it. Those who distrust the banking system and would rather only deal with cash (put it under the mattress) would greatly appreciate they can be their own bank digitally. The benefits of being able to move cash around quickly and at a very low cost especially as more countries in caricom allow freedom of movement.
