I posted this on Twitter a few days ago, but no one has perfectly cracked the code. If you enjoy difficult challenges in systems engineering, give it a try, and if you succeed, I will give you a compelling offer to join us.

Basically, we’re looking for founding engineers to join Lava - no crypto experience necessary. We don’t care what your background is, who you know, or where you’ve worked - just that you are high agency and laser focused on shipping. You also know that being the smartest person in the room means you’re in the wrong room, and that the best way to raise your own bar for excellence is to surround yourself with A+ players.

We are hiring a systems engineer who wants to work with us on improving self-custody.

**What you will be doing** 

- Research new protocols and applications for self-custody
- Design and engineer systems in Rust
- Help manage our infrastructure (deployment, upgrades, security)
- Be an integral part of our team contributing to whatever is needed to help Lava succeed

**What we look for in you**

- You align with the guidelines and values we use to decide who we hire and how we operate: https://www.lava.xyz/onepager
- You understand self-custody and crypto protocols (ex. bitcoin). You were able to, for example, read our loans specification (can find on our github or twitter) and understand it.
- You can do one of the following (or both):
    - design and engineer systems in Rust. If you don’t know Rust, you’re willing to learn it ASAP.
    - work on infrastructure (deployment, upgrades, security).

**Nice to haves**

- You live in NYC, or you’re willing to relocate to NYC
