I appreciate the criticism, I'm trying to understand this ecash space to see if there is really something to it or if it's just smoke.
I will play devil's advocate and challenge some of the arguments I read from @justin_shocknet.
Even if their current version doesn't support multisig which I'm not sure is true or not, is there any technical limitation stopping it from happening? If not it will probably happen over time, even it's a fork.
My main question is how the federation would be formed with a healthy sample of people who are unlike to collude later? If there is a group creating a wallet like Minibits and they also operate a mint, even if federated I think the amount of trust deposited in a group who are probably close to each other makes it unappealing to me.
Knots look cool and it's a dependency to use things like DATUM, so I've been planing an upgrade to my node's hardware so I can transition between Core and Knots without any disruption, who knows maybe I keep both. It would be nice if they could share the same blockchain files as they write and read from the same place.
Nice, I guess the note works like a context for that identity, if you wanted to be serious about "isolating" them to protect yourself.
I meant more in the sense of the "strategy" and boundaries for each identity, assuming you would reuse nyms across different sites.
Assuming you have other nyms or had them in the past, how do/did you manage multiple identities?
Having a known name and face help with business at the cost of exposing you a lot more and making security a lot harder, right?

What about the Fermi paradox?

I remember that! It was sad when you guys decided to discontinue and didn't open source what was in place.
I ran a raspiblitz back then, but I wanted the Casa node.

There's more to it, from a privacy and opsec point of view, the more you talk about something it becomes more likely that will be heard or shared with others outside the group and potentially lead to physical vulnerability.

True, they are great 😁
It's funny how law makers seem to live in disney land, since when making something illegal has solved any problem?
When politicians make something illegal they just harm those not willing to break the law, obviously criminals don't give a damn to these laws.
In Brazil owning a firearm legally is super hard and the current government is making it even harder, meanwhile our slums and pretty much every city in the country has criminals with rifles, SMGs, shotguns, grenades, pistols, and revolvers.

if more people adopt an abundance mindset
That could be hard for a lot of people, if you see other companies that adopted v4v (e.g. Leanpub) they allow people to choose down to a minimum, and they can't go higher than a given amount as well.
Do you think if Leanpub removed the minimum price in their v4v it would net positive of negative in a long period of time?
I honestly don't know and I like the way you think, I'm just stressing scenarios to stress our understanding
known people getting all the zaps is just a function of there not being an algo
some clients have a working algo, take primal as an example you have the ability to choose your feed
other clients like nostrudel also has a similar concept but not fully implemented, i'm not sure if this is a NIP or just clients trying to solve the problem you described, at least some clients are a bit ahead
Sometimes I see posts on SN that are just links and the same user posting lots of them and often making more than the post costed.
I also see a lot of posts that IMO don't bring anything new or different and they are doing amazing if you measure it in terms of zaps received. Like people assmilking Bitcoin related content because they know it's the most popular topic.
If your content is great I believe it increases the chances of receiving a fair amount of sats, if you are known and respected it multiplies that, and there are probably other factors affecting it too.
I believe SN is not MAINLY about earning sats, it's about the community, but if you are always paying and watching easy content being better rewarded than hard to write content, it sends the wrong message.
I've noticed a few territories have increased their posting fees, many are ranging from 400 to 1000 sats per post now, which is expensive IMO.
Often I find myself choosing a territory that is aligned with my content but has cheaper fees, and if I can't find it I need to think if I really want to proceed with that post.
I think it would be a mistake to limit the fees as it might make sense for some territories, but when owners/renters set prices too high it discourages people from posting there and then they might post it in in the wrong place.
Do you think that's a problem? If so, shall we brainstorm ways to improve the situation?
In Brazil the latest I'm aware is 15% if you trade in foreign exchanges regardless of the amount, but if you use national exchanges and sell up to 30,000 national shitcoin in a month you don't have to pay taxes.
It's unclear if it affects P2P but the govt is trying to discourage people from using means they won't be able to spy on.
