I heard also good things about Logitech G305, it's cheaper than Lamzu Thorn, but again only 2.4G, and it has an egg form if you like it. I run local account, but yeah micro$oft tries to crack down the practice. I configured my system with wonderful Chris Titus Tech tool to get mostly security updates, and I never got a broken update for an entire year and a half (I also run Endeavour OS alongside, and I mostly use it though).

The thing is, smartphones, be it android or ios, aren't better, and linux smartphones are miles away from being usable for normies. And with recent trend to close OEM unlocking (fuck EU again for their moronic law that corporate shills interpret as they wish), and google's push for blocking sideloading of unverified android apps starting next year prospects are kinda depressing. All for your own security, my ass. Sooner or later, smartphones would be eligible only for smashing into a wall.

If Canonical wasn't so Microsoft-esque with strange decisions. The good old Amazon ads in the old versions, or the ad for Ubuntu pro in the terminal, old habits of cooking homegrown solutions instead of contribution to existing projects, or snap being centralised to their closed appstore and their push for this tech. They're not evil, but personally I don't like to trust them. Hell Canonical even had a Windows mobile called Ubuntu Touch, which now is a separate project. Linux Mint is just easier in this regard.
