This magazine is the official dark side magazine of choice, journalist there are the official propaganda machine of the Sith Lords, do your math ;-)
There is some truth and certainly some room for improvement but hey even VISA goes down and more that he might be aware of. Also many things are just not true but is a good click bait sure, the fact that it is mentioning only custodial solutions when phoenix is very good and user friendly. Lightning is not VISA, it is not a system for normies, they might use it one day who knows but I think that this is not the aim to which bitcoin and lightning has to aspire. Normies will use normies things this will be used by other people. And then there is layer 3 mints...
Yes, there is some trust involved but for people that might have a shitty home connection, may be mobile spotty connection a VPS might be the only choice, may be with a "trusted provider" and using LND in stateless mode?
@javier Will using neutrino instead of a full node be possible or there could be some problems with let say 50 channels like in your example? I ask because if you wanted to run your node on a rented VPS having a full node could become very costly. That of ocurse if you have a bad connection in your house for example.
Sometimes it is best to wait and see if your "logic" might be the best one, only idiots don't change their mind, life is a flux full of twists and turns and require an in the moment detached response. This response may also look like a reverse on some previous decisions. This show of "power" from the core developers might in the end cause a total loss of it ;-)
You never know what a perceived judged little thing may unleash, especially when the circumstances surrounding it are not clear. You can't see the bottom of the see if it is murky, you can't have good decisions if the situation is murky. It might be better to let the dust settle, see clearly and then make a stand and decide. The decisions here were made in the middle of a dust storm. Only my opinion of course.
Yes, sure I see your point. There would be something that could be done and something that could not. The point is that polarization is not good for making any decision. I do not know what the right answer is or will be, what I know is that from this sort of climate no good actions would came. First stop the polarization, that is a DS trap, from that all sort of things would came in their own time. If something can be solved or attenuated or even left as it is will be seen when all the quarrel will cease then what can be done will be done.
What we need is serious spam filters implemented and maintained so this people will get expelled form the bitcoin ecosystem and find something else to destroy from withing. If this will not be done bitcoin would experience dead of a thousands cuts in a few years. It is my opinion that ETFs and inscriptions are dark side attacks. Let's see if bitcoiners will have the courage to fight again! I sense a great disturbance in the force this days pain and confusion avoid we must!
They will be the third layer of bitcoin in a far away future (remember, we are early). Communities, cities, regions will all have their mints where residents will be able to transfer theirs bitcoin (supposedly from lighting, layer 2) and use them in the community with very very low fees and instant payments. That's because lightning would not be able to support all that much people directly and it might be possible/feasible only to use it to "charge" your mint wallet. Of course if you move from area to area it will be possible to transfer to another mint using lightning and also from mint to mint directly due to mint to mint agreements.
