The exemption applies to INCOME (category E). If you don't sell (for dirty fiat), there's no income, but there IS an exit tax if you are hodling the day you stop being a tax resident.
Hopefully it will get better, not worse.
As the value of fiat drops, the amount of KYC BTC lost to tax increases proportionately.
@orangepillapp - does the application depend on geolocation or can it be used without those permissions?
And is the APK available, eg to download onto graphene OS with Obtainium?
It's pretty easy in Funchal (Madeira, a Portuguese Island)
You just spend your sats with merchants directly, over lightning using a QR code in the usual way. There are already ~126 merchants and counting. You can pay your rent, your office space, eat out at different restaurants every day, get goods from the pharmacy, rent a car - literally, everything is possible with Bitcoin. And ONLY bitcoin, there are zero merchants accepting shitcoins.
If the merchant doesn't take Sats, you pay with physical cash. There are lots of locals willing to sell cash for Sats, just ask around.
Bear in mind that it wasn't always this way - the merchant count is a result of grassroots activity, local bitcoiners actively talking to merchants, supporting their transition, and SPENDING THEIR BITCOIN on a daily basis.
