Not a fan of this....I 100% think law enforcement should arrest anyone rioting, but that could be handled by police.
Military is bad precedent (and likely illegal)
this territory is moderated

The issue is they do not want to follow Federal Law with immigration who has the power. Just yesterday LA's Mayor ordered all of her police to not work with ICE or Homeland for immigration issues and that isnt legal on her end. If the Gov. wanted to utilize the National Guard that would be one thing but he hasn't. The Federalized Guard is only guarding Federal buildings and facilities which is well within their ability.
Also for what its worth these Marines are only temporary and to support the California National Guard to protect federal personnel and property in Los Angeles.

George Bush sent the military and national guard to Los Angeles during 1992 riots

The problem is that California leaders have already demonstrated an unwillingness to use police against rioters.
I'm no fan of the Trump administration, but during the George Floyd riots, Santa Monica got wrecked by rioters, and public officials sat by and did nothing. The promenade still hasn't recovered and there are still boarded up shops everywhere.
Very few people would come out and say it, but I don't think too many locals are gonna take the side of the rioters.

Politicians in Los Angeles are actively encouraging civil unrest like they did in 2020
Violence is the remedy they have chosen

Its a good point, but in that case the Feds need to arrest to local politicians. Clear case of negligent homicide / criminal negligence.
