pull down to refresh

First day of intentionally doing just one meal (or at least one highly condensed period of eating), but I chickened out on the cold shower. Those are a lot easier after being out in the hot Sun than when you've just woken up and the house is chilly.

How'd you do today stackers? What are you going to do better tomorrow?

I got out and went to a huge used book sale in a huge empty warehouse. Less than thirty FRNs got me 20 books that interested me. What a deal! Oh, took the wife along, too. She got a few for herself, too.

That sounds awesome. My favorite thing about living in a college town was that all the garage sales and thrift shops had amazing books.

This is actually a used book sale of books donated in the city. It is in support of the cops, though. They also have CDs, DVDs, games and puzzles. There is a whole section of old first editions and encyclopedias, too. The place is just amazing. The volunteer clerk told us that they still haven’t been able to put out pallets and pallets full of books, yet. I will have to go back for another look, later.

Mental health!

Yep, also those cold winter days need some books to keep us warm.

I'd be going more inactive on SN this month because of my exams from next week. So I'd have to switch to geek mode now 🤓

reply

Exams?! For what??

reply

Next week are my class unit tests. But what I'm preparing for is JEE in India, you might have heard of it.

Good luck!

Usual working day for me. Another hot day, so I left work about an hour earlier than usual. Went for a short walk with my wife after dinner.

My little one got interested in the plumbing, electrical, and low voltage systems in the house and was asking to see the low voltage panel, electrical breaker panel, and the mechanical room second day in a row. He was also asking questions about the alarm system, surveillance system, internet access, wifi, router, hot water tank, boiler, main water shutoff, the sprinkler system, which breaker controls which light switch or plug, and what the numbers on the breakers mean. He also wanted to see all the breaker panels in the house, and insisted on going into the basement suite to see the sub panel. Good thing it's my wife's nephew living in there, so he let us in so the little guy can check out the sub panel. I'm just glad he is curious and likes to ask questions.

Today's stats:

  • 150 push ups (3 sets of 50)
  • box step for 20 minutes carrying 16 pounds of added weight in a backpack
  • 2km walk with wife after dinner
  • cold shower
  • 13659 steps
