Yes, we can expect people to have a higher tolerance for complexity given they’re *sometimes* rewarded. But, it’s safe to assume that people don’t want complexity where it doesn’t serve a purpose.

Perhaps it is overly complex, I'm receptive to the idea, sure. But it does in some sense point back to a frustration I get with ux guys insisting that their users are stupid and must be placated. It feels good to earn rewards from a relatively complex thing.
