Hello Stacker News! I make zines (short for magazine) about bitcoin tech. Today I'm excited to be share a new one on silent payments.

Pages 1 - 4: What are silent payments? How do they work? What's the trade off?

Pages 5 - 8: A deeper dive into how the on-chain receiving address is generated, why it's more work on the receiver to recognize silent payments, and a word on the current state of application development.

As always, the zine fits on a single 8.5 x 11" sheet of paper (A4 format not available... yet!).
Print it at home, cut on the dotted line and fold. You can also read it online.
For both options, visit https://satsie.dev/zines/silentpayments
This zine would not have happened without @yashraj's patience and persistence. He's been asking for this for a loooong time and even made a UX edition of the zine for designers. Check it out here!

Here are pages 1 - 4 of his UX zine

And pages 5-8!

Lastly, a HUGE thank you to my reviewers: Keith Mukai, Conor Okus, @yashraj, Seth for Privacy & Josie Baker
Thank you for verifying the technical accuracy & for helping me make this as concise as possible, even when that meant rewriting sections! This peer review is invaluable 🙏
p.s. if this is your first time seeing these, I have more. Go to https://satsie.dev/zines!
