A few months back, I had enough trying to fiddle with SN wallets and directly zap... so I just took them away, dabbling in ~~shitcoins~~ CCs all day long, while opting to receive sats to my custodial Lightning wallet addresses. Functionality over purity.

Worked great, most of the time: a little pesky when I don't have enough funds to publish, but it's alright; just manually pay.

I made sure to keep a little bit of real sats from daily rewards so that I could zap real sats whenever I wanted to.

... until today, when it's not available anymore:

I zapped, the note received it... and then it just reverted itself:

Sending CCs works fine.

If you have a non-working sending wallet attached, disable it (check disable box and hit save) and you can zap CCs with your reward sats.

We can't know in advance that your sending wallet will misbehave. If it's attached and enabled, we try to use it to pay for zaps still.

I don't have one attached, that's what I was trying to say. It caused too much troubles, so now I just use the SN wallet balance... but that's not working.

...or apparently I freakin' do... and it was just lagging? I understand nothing.

Uhm, that's not how this works, you can't zap custodial sats as sats. They turn into CCs when you zap them.

The whole point of switching to non-custodial was that we are not a money transmitter.

Um, so the balance of sats I have aren't sats... And when I zap them, and the settings draw that that balance (not the CC balance) they still turn into CCs on the receiver's end...?

If you have disabled sending wallets, you should be good to go zapping CCs/reward sats.

Any problem you encounter while doing that is a bug, and there's nothing you need to do to fix it. Sometimes zaps in the UI glitch like you describe. Refreshing usually fixes it.

I think that's what this post is trying to get at, right? You're good to go.
