I don't think entrepreneurs are the same thing as economists, although they surely acquire a great deal of economic knowledge. You don't necessarily have to be interested in underlying forces or causal factors to run a business well.

No, they aren't the same or even closely resemble the same. Economists deal more with the theory of an aggregated entity called the economy whereas the entrepreneurs deal with direct knowledge of consumers, their desires and the factors of production for the entrepreneur's specialization. One deals with constructs and the other deals in reality, don't they?
