Question is inspired by this post - #1008610
If you follow the link in the post and check the fund contributors along with their local currencies, you’ll notice something interesting:
1 unit of account in Bitcoin is actually worth more than 1 unit of account in the local currency. That makes sending 1 sat feel like it’s not a diminishingly small amount anymore, or it doesn't make any difference cause 1 SAT = 1 SAT? 😊
It was actually a symbolic moment for me when sat parity was achieved. I actually still use this as a rule of thumb when doing the conversion between krw and sats.
But seeing it here makes me realise i should re-evaluate my mental conversion rate.

I think the AUD us just a 6x away from sat/cent parity.
It makes it easy to calculate when its a nice round number.

WOW. this is not the case for my currency... yet. but if you put it like this it really hits differently and it makes you pay more attention to BTC.

I can’t ever imagine this happening with the US dollar.

I think 1 sat 1 cent sounds about right=)

I think it probably also depends on the significance of 1 of your local currency -- if you're in Korea, the "feeling" of having 1 won is very different than being in America and having 1 dollar. Or Colombian Pesos, where the currency is in thousand, but they more or less ignore that and put "mil" (thousand) discreetly next to a big number, so that a 2000 peso bill looks like "2" with "mil" in small print.

I think all currencies had a time when 1 was something meaningful:) just sometimes you don’t remember it and have to ask grand parents;)

My national 💩coin with ticker COP passed that barrier long ago, today 1sat = 4.3 COP.
It really doesn't make much difference, there's nothing priced below 1000 COP and the smallest coins are 100. Everyone is a millionaire and accounting has to be done with a ridiculous number of zeros.
Clearly we should've taken 3 zeros from it long ago, but no politician dares to take the step and be the one that "made everyone poorer".
