pull down to refresh

I've owned the Switch 2 for 2 weeks, pre-ordered it and picked it up on release day. I've been playing mostly Tears of the Kingdom upgraded version on it. Mario Kart World is fun and all, but it's not a console seller. Since release, I think the Switch 2, as of now, is more just a console for playing original Switch games faster, more performant, and with better graphics.
Then we had the Donkey Kong Banaza direct drop yesterday. I was already looking forward to this game after they announced it in the Switch 2 trailer. But after watching the Bananza direct, I'm in complete "shut up and take my money" mode. The game looks very fun, creative, with lots of interesting gameplay and mechanics. This game looks like a console seller. As a long time Donkey Kong fan who played all of Donkey Kong Country 1-3 on the SNES (I still have the cartridges), I was very happy to see the ape finally receiving the 3D platformer treatment. July 17 can't come soon enough!
Check out the Bananza Nintendo Direct below:
Definitely looking bananas

I'm going to shout "banana" whenever I do a special transformation.

If you haven't played Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze, make it a priority to do so. That game is incredible, definitely one of the best platformers I've ever played.

Hell yea! Tropical Freeze was a ton of fun! And I was probably one of the 10 people that played it on the Wii U, haha.

Really looking forward to this one. I think a game like this should be the true launch title of a console, not Mario Kart.
