Found this observation in an otherwise banger of a 4-hour longform Modern Wisdom podcast. I've started to admire Chris a bunch more, having spent an astonishing number of hours on his content since I first found it in ~2021. In this episode, he and Alex Hormozi are a little bit all over the place so it's well worth jumping around to what catches your eye.
The relationship, men-women dynamics they ponder are absolutely golden, as are the love letters by Feynman and Darwin
...I started writing a response/retweet reply until I remembered that Twitter isn't the place for thoughtful, pondering conversations— Stacker is! lol, jk.
Immediate reaction: Yes, correct; this is the way.

Second thought: This is the most aspirational and most tragic idea I've ever seen.

Aspirational because above; yes, that is the goal, and it tells me I have a workable avenue there. (And some sort of luck, #pinball theory) Tragic, because I have legit never seen a woman like that. I'm plenty sure they don't exist, but I'd obvs love to be wrong.

Part 2: I also read portions 4.3 and 4.4 in Jordan Peterson's We Who Wrestle With God (#804036), which I started a book club (#782630) for and have been wholly delinquent in posting on.
The story is Noah (dude from the ark), but after they come back and re-establish humanity on a flourishing Earth. Noah, without a purpose, drifts a little, and in a weak moment gets drunk and passes out drunk in his tent. Bad son invades his privacy, gazes upon his nakedness and judges it; two of the good sons cover him, with their backs turned, respecting tradition and understanding the fall from grace.
It is a great error to judge someone... solely on their behavior at their weakest moments (expressed, we might add, mindlessly, in their journal nonetheless). My god, it's something I've been trying to voice after personal battles in recent past — an unformulated sense of deep, deep injustice, and the weakness of a mind incapable of separating out; abstracting away; keeping two thoughts in your mind at once.
I needed this paragraph about four months ago. And all along it was sitting there, on my desk, unread — a few dozen pages further ahead than where I left off reading (#782630).

Incredible

The universe is funny like that.
Tragic, because I have legit never seen a woman like that
Are you sure? He basically said it's a woman who doesn't cause any drama, who brings peace to your life, and who believes in you and wants the best for you. I think there are plenty of women like that out there, though that last part you probably won't be able to really find out until you're deep into the relationship / already married.

Two things:
  • Love both these guys, especially when they collaborate and do a very long form Hormozi download. Have listened to this whole thing. Nice post
  • Where are you looking for / meeting women? What do you consider drama?
