Everytime I see this headline I just LMAO. I didn’t follow the Mets as closely back then but it’s crazy to me the Mets are still paying this dude! They only owed him $6M bucks now they are on the hook for 10 more years of this madness!
Now that the Mets are good this day doesn’t hurt as much as it used to.

These buyout deals are pretty common, but I wasn't expecting it to be tied up in a failed Madoff scheme.
But it make sense why pay Bobby $6M when you can give it to madoff and he generates a 20% return that you can pay the 1.19 mil over 20 years?
