This letter reminded me of conversations with JG while he was in PL for a couple months. We had many discussions around Good and Evil, and disagreed on almost all subjects around self sovereignty, anarcho capitalism, community and we always battled almost all important bitcoin assumptions respectfully. I quite miss those late nite back and forths. It’s important to find those you can disagree with in life they keep you sharp and balanced.
Dear CSL
wherever you are….
I’ve just recalled a memory of our last (only?) meeting. It was with other Interplanetarians, and you commented on our hopes of space exploration–“I’m sure you’re very wicked people–but wouldn’t the world be dull if everyone was good?”
You had a friend with you whose name I discovered later was Tolkein or Tolkien. Wonder what happened to him?
Best Wishes Arthur Clarke
Pretty cool how they all knew each other
Also pretty funny line at the end

Exactly really makes you appreciate the people you disagree with more.

I didn't know about the Lewis-Clarke connection. Very cool! It's a rare talent to be able to nurture relationships with the people you disagree with, but valuable.
