"La Grande Boucle" have just completed their first stage. You may not expect a lot of movements to begin with, though this year has been different.

Just 17 km away from the finish line, Team Visma pushed to break the main group, as wind was helping them. This left in a first group to main favorites such as Vingegaard and Pogacar. Other favorites such as Roglic and Evenepoel were relegated to a second group. In such short distance to the end of the day, they managed to achieve 39 seconds. It is not a definite distance though it counts.

You may not win the Tour the first week, though you may lost it if you are not alert.

The stage finished in Lille, where Team Alpecin led the group the last few kilometers to leave Phillipsen sprinting the last few hundred meters and win it. Incredible speed!
