In December of the same year, the expropriation of 500 properties for the construction of the metro was approved.
Did these people get compensation?

Yes, those people received a compensation (much larger than the value of their current property). They were offered a property with similar parameters in another part of the city + money. If they did not accept this, their property was revalued, they received its countervalue, and the "money bonus" (this was relevant in the case when the owner wanted to move out of the city)
