The problem is kind of on our end. @anon costs should probably be 10x these days rather than 100x.

I've been thinking about using this formula:

anon_cost = min(cost x 10, max(cost, post ? 1000 : 100))

So anon would pay 10x but with an upper bound so it's never too expensive

reply

I was gonna say. I hardly think 10 sats is too much to pay to comment. I didn’t realize it means anyone commenting as @anon would then have to pay 100 sats to comment.

But if they insist on anon then 100 sats is fine I mean typically if ppl comment as anon they have a lot of fire and are willing to pay the price.

Or am I reading this wrong and an anon comment in ~HealthAndFitness actually costs 1000 sats??

I'd say that a good @anon post about a sensitive subject will almost certainly earn more than 100 sats. Plus, it's only a hundred sats. No one should let that stop them from saying what they want to say.

Now I'm confused about the price, too. Maybe @grayruby's whistleblower can make an anon comment and tell us how much it cost.

reply

I checked. 100 sats to comment as anon.

reply

You were the whistleblower?

reply

No, I just switched to anon quickly and looked. It took like 3 seconds

I checked here, not health and fitness. Its 1k for a reply there.

Did you check in ~HealthAndFitness?

reply

No, I checked here because I'm a moron.

reply

I’m glad we confirmed @Aardvark is a moron, but I thought anon comment cost was 10x not 100x?!
