I don't think its too late. Not even close. I can see privacy tech taking off. Why?
I'm aware of a YouTuber called PewDiePie. Never seen any of his content but he is apparently influential. I don't know the whole story but he recently switched to Linux, is selfhosting Nextcloud and using GrapheneOS. He has influenced many people to consider these tools. We don't know the long term effects of this but this is my point.
If the masses shift even 10% towards a tech that is not known by most people it suddenly begins to be normalized. The script can get flipped real quick. And if people start getting persecuted for using tech but not actually doing anything wrong that will backfire on the state.
I'm so far away from being hopeless on this front.
This was inspiring to read. Good to remember that for many things, it's not nearly as hopeless as it seems. It doesn't take that much to make an impact, one domino topples another.
