pull down to refresh

i recently discovered a poet in @siggy47's newsletter who makes reference to Marshall McLuhan, that theorist who coined the term the medium is the message
it made me a bit sad, as it reminded me that i once had in my possession a copy of a fantastic volume of McLuhan's work, that i gifted to someone who i'm not sure ever picked it up.
i guess it means i ought to do better at reading those books that have been gifted to me.

I can relate. I have 3 or 4 books given to me by friends that I have ignored. There is always a book I am interested in that seems to take precedence. I feel guilty as hell.

yes, i also understand but it doesn't make me regret my decision any less. lessons learned.
i view reading as a deeply personal activity and one requiring a connection to the work. books often find me.
that being said, recently picked up Gravity's Rainbow, which found me as a gift. i am not regretting it.
