Cal Raleigh hit his 37th and 38th homers last night. He currently leads all baseball with Judge in second at 34, and Ohtani in 3rd with 32.
Do you think Raleigh can keep this up for the rest of the season? Do you think anyone will catch him? And do you think he will win the upcoming HR Derby?

Ultimately I think Judge catches him. His pace is insane especially for a catcher.
As for the homerun derby. I predicted Acuna but he dropped out so I guess Big Dumper would be my next choice. Let’s see if he has the stamina to get it done.

Why especially for a catcher? Because they don’t play as many games in order to rest?
What made you go with Acuna originally? And why is Raleigh called big dumper lol

Being a catcher is very physically and mentally taxing. Hard on the knees and back plus the amount of prep that goes in to game plan with pitchers and know what pitches to call at the right time. It’s hot under that equipment in the middle of summer so it can be exhausting. They do DH him on occasion which helps. I just think with the grind of the season and being a catcher he will have a hard time keeping up with Judge launching balls out of Yankee stadium in the summer heat.
I liked Acuna because it is his home park. I thought the crowd and knowing the best spots to hit it to get the ball to carry would be an advantage. I think Olson will probably do well in his place but he has a long swing so he may tire out.
Same with Raleigh he has a longer swing so he might tire out if they have to take a lot of swings in a short period of time but who knows. I like James Wood as a sleeper pick. He has easy power so if he gets on a roll look out but he is young so who knows.
Raleigh is called Big Dumper because he has a big ass. Haha

I used to play catcher. I also pitched but mostly catcher in my high school years because we had guys that could actually throw hard. I was a decent pitcher but I never threw that hard.
Catching is fun but it can be exhausting.
