He's in his 90s!!! How many 90 year olds do you think are out there gunning people down? He's very obviously a retired assassin, and unless somone kills his dog, hes likely to stay that way.

I'll suggest that 47 is also the number of cases he lost.
Also, to my Daredevil theory, I believe he's hinted at using a cane.

Wow... You think he's lost 47 cases? If ANYTHING 47 might be a reference to his longest win streak, I doubt he's lost more than a handful of cases in his entire career. I'd also assume if he's lost any (and that's a pretty big if) that there was obviously some sort of corruption involved.
