Totally agree intensity is way more effective than just working longer. But I get your point. When tasks are too varied and require constant switching, it’s hard to stay in deep focus. Sometimes working more feels like the only option. Still, a great reminder to always aim for smarter, not just harder, work.

Mine is 'work more intensely, not longer.' 

I told this one to @ek most recently when he was lamenting his slowness and expressed that he'd fix it by working more. 

I'd follow it myself if my duties weren't so varied. I have to task switch so much, and I *really* suck at task switching, that I have to work more to get more done.
