When I'm there (about once or twice a year for a couple of weeks because I have a client there), I do occasionally meet Bitcoiners in bars and restaurants, so that's cool because money does get spent. However, I think that fiat-tourists spend more per person per day than the average bitcoiner, and they do pay taxes, so that's still the better deal.

However, if bitcoiners get fed up with the public services and fix it not just for themselves but start local businesses there to solve actual problems, then it would be awesome, because there are basically sufficiently wealthy people on the island now that can independently just choose to do something. I've not heard about much of this happening yet though.
