Howdy y’all! 🤠

☀️How’s summer treating you? Or is it winter where you are? Either way, I hope you’re making the most of it. Over here, I’ve been melting in the heat, but honestly, I try to soak up every ray—autumn comes fast, and soon I won’t see the sun for months!

Since it’s Thursday, I thought it’d be fun to share one of my older pieces. I was a huge fan of Freakazoid growing up, and when I painted him in Realistic Paint Studio, I couldn’t stop giggling. If you want to see how it came together, there’s a time-lapse video of the process on my Instagram!

So, can you recognize this guy?

This cartoon always takes me right back: just sitting there, eating cereal, watching Freakazoid, Pinky and the Brain, and Animaniacs. That era was pure gold.

What about you? What were your favorite cartoons?

I’d love to hear which shows you grew up with or which ones still make you smile!
See ya later, alligator! 🐊

reply

Oooh as a kid I used to collect Snoopys I thought he was he coolest 🥹

reply

I've been watching a lot of Looney Tunes with my wife. I hadn't watched it in ages.

I'm very fond of the original Bugs Bunny and Tasmanian Devil. The first season of Ren & Stimpy is also clutch.

For recent cartoons, I really enjoyed Common Side Effects and Rick & Morty obvs.

reply

As of recently I’ve been watching with my husband adventure time and I LOVE IIIIIT I sing along every time hahaha 😹we just recently watched JAAAAAMES BAXTER and now I just sing it randomly at home. Bugs bunny made me want to eat carrots as a kid hahaha 🥕

There was a Japanese or Asian comic called "Super Champions" in my home country, and it aired every day at 5:30 p.m.
It was definitely great!!
For my friends and I, it was a religion to watch a new episode every day!!

reply

Yeeeees I thought they ran so much I truly believed that field was the size of the earth 🌍 hahaha and yes their endless internal monologues while running were so cool (according to me as a kid)

reply

There are a ton of cartoons that have shaped my life, from childhood memories to those I've never seen before. Thank you for reminding me of that wonderful time in my life.

reply

Too many memories I loved the music from looney tunes and tom and Jerry I thought these guys know how to build up momentum hahaha courage was one of my faves it was just a tad eerie but just enough to keep me watching as a kid haha

reply

fond memories, those were the real cartoons.

reply

I always liked Pokémon, Knights of Zodiac, Dragon Ball (the original) super champions, and Rocket Power. Those were my favorites as a child.

reply

As a kid I loved singing along to the knights of the zodiac jingle 😜 SAINT SEIYAAAA oh I really believed I was one of them

reply

Without a doubt it was a wonderful era. I appreciate having had the opportunity to enjoy this masterpiece during my childhood. 🤠

reply

cool! you made me think of As Told by Ginger and Hey Arnold!

reply

Hey Arnold! Loved that as a kid too! I loved humming along to the theme

reply

Nowadays, the main one is Rick and Morty, but I also enjoy Smiling Friends and Invincible — those are the ones I manage to keep up with.

As a parent, I found one that’s great for both adults and kids: it’s called Bluey, and I totally recommend it.

And as for childhood cartoons, there are plenty — The Powerpuff Girls, Courage the Cowardly Dog, and Scooby-Doo, to name a few. The other you mentioned I like too.

reply

I really loved powerpuff girls as a kid ooooh I had a backpack and a pillow I was obsessed with a board game I had of them haha what is bluey about? I’ve heard really cute things about it to be honest

reply

They cover a lot of things. It’s the kind of cartoon that’s perfect for both kids and adults to watch — even better if they’re parents. It’s about a little dog and her family.

reply

Aaaw 🥹 that’s as wholesome as it can get

reply

Batman animated series from the 90s. Also Gargoyles and Spider-Man (90s one)

reply

Gargoyles I haven’t thought of them since forever they were so eerie but still watched the show hehe and yes Batman was a huge hit for me it made me feel like a super héroe though not as much as the power rangers
