The impetus that catalysed this post:
  • The founder of Toyota is Kiichiro Toyoda, so why is the brand named Toyota instead? Apparently, when Toyoda トヨダ is written in katakana, the character comprises 10 strokes. However, when Toyota トヨタ is written in katakana, it consists of 8 strokes. Now, in Japanese culture, 8 is considered an auspicious number because the characterハ broadens at the bottom, thus symbolising prosperity and growth.
I think it’s interesting how people’s decisions can be guided by numbers. Aside from how the Chinese and Japanese find the number 8 auspicious (a number that is taboo in German culture incidentally), some buildings in America don’t have the 13th floor.
Also some planes don’t have a row 13

yes, especially when zapping, but id have to caveat that by saying there's no generally agreed upon "auspiciousnss" to the numbers i become partial to, only my intuition

But you haven’t zapped me 8888 sats yet

my intuition says 8888 it seems to have a few too many digits.

It's not just some. I'd say its the majority. Maybe builders don't care, but it's probably harder to rent out units on 13th floors. It's very strange to me that this phenomenon exists, and yet, I've never lived on a 13th (or fake 14th).

I’m wrapping my head around this. 4 in Chinese means death, but we don’t avoid staying on the fourth floor. Me included haha. Interesting how Americans’ discomfort with 13 could lead to such ramifications

When you learn chinese or japanese or german on duolingo the number learning are first lessons then such lessons stops same for example for learning at italki or youtube, you need to write notes and be back to copybook from time to time or you will lose such informations as simple as that. Also I prefer pyn in code (there is same for japanese) as these letters writing seems little complicated like wo hen mang instead of still drawing on copybook which increases learning time a lot.

What is your process for copybook like?
reply
You don't need to stop video every one second like for duolingo, you just record video with monosnap and then later you replay this video and take notes. Taking notes while doing duolingo lesson will increase the time of learning. For youtube videos there is similar process you convert video to gif using freeconvert then you convert gif to pdf using pdf24. Then you read video and take notes. You could burn subtitles using VLC. Duolingo lessons or italki are same process because stopping video every one second seems boring process. Small example of pdf before writing notes

You can find numerology everywhere including bitcoin.
Examples:
  • The port number used for lightning is 9735. That is the decimal value for the code point of the unicode character "LIGHTNING": ☇
  • Difficulty adjustment takes place every 2016 blocks. This number reversed gives you 6102 which may be a reference to the "Executive Order 6102" aka the banning of private ownership of gold in the US in 1933. This was the turning point to a bad money regime till bitcoin arrived in 2009.
  • The bitcoin white paper was published on October 31. The same date as Luther (beginning of the reformation) published his thesis
