Every contender is in the market for relief pitching at the trade deadline. While it is unlikely to occur, there are rumours that Guardians stud set up man Cade Smith might be available (for the right price).

The New York Yankees are one of the teams that have been linked to the Guardians for potential reliever trades. While every contender would want Cade Smith, the Yankees can offer something other teams can’t- Cade Smith. That’s right the Yankees have a top 15 prospect in their system who is also a pitcher named Cade Smith. I highly doubt the Guardians would only take one prospect for Smith but it would be quite funny if the Yankees Cade Smith was part of a trade package for the Guardians Cade Smith.

I don’t want the Yankees to get anymore good players but this would be a memorable trade.
