Yesterday I went down to the river for a swim and ran into a friend I’d just met a few days earlier. He’s a cool guy - into psychedelics like I am (or used to be, in his case). He told me some wild trip reports, some bad but all pretty profound for him. I love conversations like that. I told him a bit about how I used to grow mushrooms and even extracted DMT a few times myself - but that’s a story for another day…
Somehow we got onto Bitcoin. He told me he first heard about it when BTC was around $50, but he didn’t touch it because he thought it was just for scams and buying drugs - which, funny enough, was exactly what his friend was doing on Silk Road. What an insane opportunity that could’ve been. He still hasn’t stacked any sats, but after our long, honest talk about money and Bitcoin, I think I lit a little spark. I shared a few good resources with him, like Jack Mallers’ Atlantis lecture and gave him my Strike referral code for some extra perks.
Whether he goes for it or not, I love conversations like that - doing the good work, spreading the signal. Feels good to help someone see things from another angle.
