I can’t believe I let myself not go to the gym this whole week just because I’m sleeping late
So I will go now and break the cycle of not going to the gym because I’m sleeping late because I’m not tired because I didn’t go to the gym
I blame my irresponsible drinking of too much coffee (up to four cups a day)
Yikes. Well if it makes you feel any better I haven’t pushed code in about a month!

Not really but appreciate the attempt haha
When will you push code again?

I lost all energy with the plebdev course. I would find issues and bugs and they would never get addressed unless I mention something on here. Plus paying 50k sats to only have your membership lapse to pick up where I left off again was really deflating. It just seems like plebdev is stretching himself too thin to actually focus on his product. I was going to post about it about why taking the plebdev course might be a bad idea.
And I say that because on SN you and k00b address problems very quickly. It feels like support is always around. When you are providing education services at a cost you have to be engaged with your customers constantly.
So now I think I’m just going to practice leaning swift and learn how to make an iOS app over the next few weeks/months

How can issues or bugs be addressed if nobody mentions them?
He can’t find everything by himself, more eyeballs, unique experiences and setups will always find more. We also rely on users telling us when something is wrong. I don’t test all of SN all the time.

Mhh, yeah, I can imagine that

You mean a follow-up post?

We’re in a unique position because our users don’t have to switch context to complain, they can just do it within the product.
We reply fast because we also don’t have to switch context, we’re using the product all the time, but that’s also something unique because SN is something you can use all the time.

Fair point but how do you imagine this constant engagement? A common thing companies do to constantly engage with their users is to constantly send emails but that gets annoying really quick, right?
I don’t want to dismiss your bad experience, but sounds to me like he could have been more proactive, but also you could have had more agency. Or did you send him feedback and he didn’t reply?

Update: I also wonder why instead of writing me this, why didn’t you mention him?
I considered mentioning him for you, but I didn’t, because that’s something you should do

I would create issues on github and they would go unanswered for weeks.

Yes just to document my experience.

The issues on GitHub go unanswered for a long time.

This is 1,000% true. That is why I’m not hyper critical of the platform. Part of this is my own fault for not following up but time is at a premium.

Yeah I should but this is just me being passive aggressive about this. It’s like I truly want to dive in and then I think myself out of it. When I finally get the motivation and time to learn the bug I posted about on github still isn’t fixed I get frustrated. Plus plebdev has been amazing the few times I have reached out we spent a lot of time fixing the vs code issue I had. So a part of me doesn’t want to waste his time if I am not going to be serious about this.

The only time I reached 4 coffees I had extreme nausea and ultimately fainted, which is kind of a catastrophic reaction from my system lol.
Dehydration is no-joke so make sure to drink a lot of water!

I'm definitely not drinking enough water haha
I should start to donate blood or plasma again, because then I actually drink enough water.
When I invited a friend to join me one time, she was so worried about passing out that she drank more water than ever before in her life. Then she noticed how good she felt, even after donating blood, and we concluded it must be because of all the water she drank haha

it's a self-feeding cycle: skip a day, and I'm more likely to skip another day.
