This is hilarious to me on multiple front. One Sen. Booker was okay with the whole defund the police movement which only backfired in spectacular fashion.
“I will note that Sen. Booker objected to my police reauthorization bill, the cops funding, the Clinton cops funding, long before Donald Trump came into office. So this is not just about this. This is a long dispute over this type of funding,” Klobuchar argued. She noted that the bills all passed out of the Judiciary Committee “weeks ago.” Then she took a little jab at Booker for missing the meeting at which the bills were marked up and passed out of committee, adding, “I can’t help it if someone couldn’t change their schedule to be there.”
Booker a 2028 Presidential hopeful got pissed on the floor when this was mentioned and tried to talk about all the police bills he passed… As someone who has worked on The Hill in Congress for over 4 years now… Booker hasn't done any sort of Police bill that actually passed into law. Sure he might have cosponsored some but he isn't an ally of First Responders at all.
