Indeed. Its not a hill to die on... its a problem that economics solves.
The metric I'd like to see tracked is devs, not nodes. If devs number goes up the nodes number will go up even faster.
Number of devs and number of nodes are bad metrics, they shows very little useful info, and hides risk. Obviously node count it trivially inflatable in cloud.
Consider the competence of the devs.
For sure, but the big and legit issue I have heard over and over again is that it needs more eyeballs.
