Wow! Looks like a great hike. I'm in the northern hemisphere and it feels like we haven't had a cool day in eons. I'm envious of your snow and ice on the ground. Also, walking above the treeline. Here's hoping you got a nice fire going in the stove and made a toddy or some good coffee.
Yes the stove was one ok - the damper mechanism is almost always broken in these hut stoves so you need to wedge the door open a little to get it roaring- managed to keep it going the entire 40 hours we were there...thanks also to there being some dryish wood there when arrived- it can be difficult if there is none and you are scrambling around to gather wood before dark sets in on arrival...and its all wet.
Left a good stack for the next visitor.
Good coffee- yes. Thought about it but toddy was the only thing lacking!
