Added to cart. I love reading about history from these kinds of angles.
It's a different pace and POV than reading Wikipedia articles or the typical history books. Somehow makes history more real when you read about anecdotal, day in the life material, especially the kind that uses sources that were not produced with the aim of being an official historical record of sorts. Just a blurb or column on a daily newspaper, or a series of correspondence between private individuals.
