A few week's ago I posted about how Breedlove orange pilled my wife. My version was a little exaggerated, but the basic facts are true.
She recently discovered Jeff Booth, and is currently reading The Price Of Tomorrow. Every year she goes with friends to Aruba for a week, and she's down there now. I'm impressed that Jeff Booth is her beach reading.
We speak by phone every morning. this morning she told me that she had a conversation with a couple at the next table, and that the husband was very "into crypto." He told her eth was his favorite coin. My wife, who is far more blunt and directly confrontational than me, blurted out "Isn't that a shitcoin?" Of course the guy was offended and he tried to convince her of its value. She asked him if he had ever read Jeff Booth's book. He had no idea who he was. She then decided to talk to his wife instead.
We need to get the good lady Mrs. Siggy on SN. She sounds fun.
Its only a matter of time. She's already lurking. I have mixed feelings. This is my place to vent. She will now exacly what Im doing when I'm on my phone. We'll manage.
You can post your ventings under @totallynotsiggy.
Good idea.
Yearly trips to Aruba must be nice!
Yes. I have.been going off and on for 40 years. It sure has changed in that time. Its very developed now. There was an OG bitcoiner who accepted bitcoin at his pancake house years ago. I think he still does. Curacao even has more bitcoin activity. @optimism knows more about it.
Smart woman.
Most people get caught out by the shitcoin hype early on, yet she already sees through it.
You are a lucky man Siggy...and I think you know it.
I am
Sounds like you picked a winner.
Congrats!
I did. She's still texting me about the conversation. She told him about paying for Steak & Shake with bitcoin. He told her that he pays for chipotle with ETH all the time. That opened up a text thread about centralized wallets. She learns fast.
Never met a single ETH person that self custody's anything.
You must have done a good job orange pilling.
You know, I really didn't push her. She witnessed my obsession for a while before she got curious.
This is the way...
Talk is cheap. Action is where its at.
😀👏
If she's now reading Jeff Booth, then your prior version was not exaggerated.
Have you told her you are literally generating sats on her story right now? She is providing you Bitcoin yield. You should start your own Bitcoin Treasury Company.
I told her. She saw the Breedlove post and thought it made her sound like an idiot. I explained I had to juice it up a little for entertainment value.
Show her the sats you earn and she'll understand
Lmao, the ultimate defense to not get enticed into cheating
”Have you ever read Jeff Booth’s book?”
Yes. The honest blurt is worth its weight in gold. Genuine, clear, simple -- it is quite possibly something that will haunt this other husband for the rest of his life.
Maybe he'll be curious as to why she said it and do some more reading. My wife doubts it, because he seemed like a know it all to her.
Savage! Saying eth is a shitcoin with no apologies :-) At this rate, she'll be running her own SN territory soon. What's the wildest thing she's said about Bitcoin so far?
It's still early. I'm sure she'll have plenty to say.
I love it.
You certainly married a great woman. She's on the right path.
Jeff Booth did a great job writing that book, it's easy to read and understand for everyone.
Exactly what my wife said. She found it the most accessible of those she has tried so far.
Mind it or not, she has completely dwarfed a retired attorney with her excellent wit.
Just 2 words: smart wife! ;)
It’s impressive to see how quickly your wife has gone from being introduced to Bitcoin to confidently engaging in discussions even challenging opposing viewpoints. The fact that she’s reading The Price of Tomorrow as beach reading speaks volumes about her genuine interest. While bluntness can sometimes close doors, it can also spark curiosity in those willing to reconsider their positions. In many ways, orange-pilling is less about winning the immediate debate and more about planting seeds for future reflection. Sounds like she’s well on her way to becoming a highly effective Bitcoin advocate.
