Leases for nearly 50 stadiums and arenas in the United States and Canada are set to expire between 2030 and 2039, representing a “significant opportunity” for new development, according to RCLCO. The firm declined to disclose the locations of the upcoming lease expirations.

CoStar News identified more than a dozen leases for professional football, baseball, basketball, hockey and soccer teams set to expire in the next 14 years.

In the NFL, the most popular U.S. pro sports league, the Chicago Bears, Cleveland Browns and Washington Commanders are trying to finalize agreements for football stadiums that are expected to include associated commercial development.

MLB’s Arizona Diamondbacks, Chicago White Sox and Kansas City Royals are angling for new baseball stadiums as well.

They have a cool interactive map that shows the locations in peril of needing a new lease.

Depending on the economics play out over the next 10-15 years some teams could be on the move to more bustling cities like Austin Texas.

That’s a lot. Seems like we will have some new stadiums/arenas popping up over the next 15 years. I imagine many of them will just renew leases though.

Unless the leagues force them to build a new facility like the NFL did to the Bills.
